Job Summary

Mechanical Superintendent

The Superintendent leads directs and coordinates the work of subcontractors and labourers. This leadership position is responsible for the day-to-day management on an assigned project executing field operations safely and in a manner consistent with Company objectives.

What You Will Be Working On

  • Initiates coordinates directs and schedules site personnel to ensure project objectives are met.

  • Coordinate a multi-trade workforce to execute maintenance tasks project work and support plant shutdowns

  • Ensure project controls are in place to accurately measure progress against a schedule

  • Ensure workers follow procedures remain engaged and execute quality work

  • Assist in estimating requirements of future projects

  • Manage equipment requirements for each project or task

  • Manage multi-platform labour arrangements from unionized workers to open shop

  • Partake and occasionally lead incident investigations as required

  • Assist in preparation and negotiation of mechanical and electrical subcontracts.

  • Implements and manages the Bird Safety Program; performs regular hazard analysis and toolbox meetings.

What We Are Looking For

  • 10 years experience in the maintenance industry working with contractors with relevant work experience in a similar role.

  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems

  • Experience with industrial and process mechanical electrical and controls considered an asset.

  • Effectively provide overall supervision coordination and scheduling of construction activities and consistently complete projects on time on budget and to the clients satisfaction.

  • Demonstrated competence in the areas of safety workforce management project execution cost control quality and administration.

  • A strong leader and problem-solver you are able to build and steward trust with clients subcontractors and team members to effect competitive excellence and pride in teamwork with outstanding project delivery.
