We are hiring Oncology Liaison Nurse ; Medical Oncology into a Hospital in Dublin Ireland.
Responsibilities
- Provide holistic patient-centred care to oncology patients across inpatient day unit and outreach settings; support families through education counselling and advocacy.
- Act as a liaison between consultants multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) and external services to ensure continuity of care timely communication and accurate documentation via Meditech.
- Demonstrate clinical leadership fostering collaboration among oncology radiology pathology diagnostics and clinical trial teams both within Hospital and nationally.
- Educate patients and families about treatment genetic testing and care pathways; advocate for patient needs during hospital visits treatments and clinical trials.
- Organise and attend MDT meetings ensuring accurate patient data submission preparation of clinical information and coordinated follow-up on care plans and investigations.
- Maintain high standards of clinical practice aligned with NMBI Code of Conduct hospital policies and the Cancer Control Strategy ensuring regulatory compliance and patient safety.
- Maintain accurate up-to-date electronic records of all patient interactions treatment changes and test results; ensure proper preparation for consultant clinics.
- Support oncology nursing staff through mentoring case discussions and in-service education; participate in teaching and training programmes to enhance professional standards.
- Engage in clinical audit and research to ensure evidence-based practice; evaluate oncology services contribute to policy development and implement improvements to enhance care quality.
- Commit to ongoing education leadership in oncology service development ethical practice and the highest professional standards as an ambassador for Hospital.
Requirements
NMBI Registered General Nurse
Higher Diploma in Oncology Nursing
Masters in Oncology Nursing
Certification in Genetic Nursing (recognized body)
Minimum 5 years post-registration experience
At least 3 years in Medical Oncology
Management development experience
Experience in Clinical Genetics or related field
Strong communication time management and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
Capable of working under pressure and managing change
Proficient IT and computer skills
Teaching and clinical assessing experience
Research experience
Committed to advancing the Oncology Liaison Nurse role and enhancing oncology services
