Job Summary
The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is responsible for ensuring accurate timely and safe handling of all inbound and outbound shipments. This role supports production and customer delivery by verifying orders packaging parts correctly preparing shipping documentation and coordinating shipments in accordance with company procedures and quality standards.
What You Will Be Doing
- Count weigh and measure parts to verify quantities and dimensions meet order requirements.
- Label all packages accurately using company transit labels.
- Apply verification methods to ensure accuracy on all outgoing shipments.
- Perform proper packaging techniques to protect product integrity during transit.
- Assemble and pack crates for large or specialty orders.
- Process shipments on time according to required handling times and shipping methods.
- Prepare and execute all shipping-related paperwork including packing slips commercial invoices and staging documentation.
- Recall or redirect packages in transit when required.
- Follow all Standard Operating Instructions as outlined in the Quality Management System.
- Load trucks and vans using forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Maintain a clean organized and safe work environment.
- Follow warehouse safety guidelines and procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
What You Bring to the Table
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of shipping and receiving experience.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Positive attitude with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Coachable mindset and ability to take direction from management or team leads.
- Understanding of basic warehouse operations and item processing.
- Ability to adapt and learn new packaging techniques.
- Comfortable working toward daily weekly and monthly production goals.
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain forklift certification.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Teams and ERP inventory systems.
- Ability to input data type efficiently and print reports as needed.
- Working knowledge of DHL FedEx UPS USPS and other shipping services.
- Experience with ShipStation or similar shipping software is a plus.
- Epicor ERP experience is a plus.
