Job Summary

Clinical Postdoctoral Fellowship inSchool Based Mental Health and Special Education SummaryThe Baker Center for Children and Families (also known as Judge Baker Childrens Center) promotes the best possible mental health of children and families through the integration of research intervention training and policy. The clinical postdoctoral fellow will carry a caseload of up to 8 students enrolled in the Manville School. The fellow will serve as their students clinician and case manager which will include the delivery of therapeutic services (individual small group or push-in) consultation with classroom teams family therapy/parent training (as applicable) and collaboration with both internal and external support services and providers. The fellow will also work with classroom teams to deliver a social-emotional learning curriculum that draws from evidence-based practices. As case manager the fellow will lead any interdisciplinary team meetings service-planning meetings or caregiver-teacher conferences for the student. As part of the fellows role as a psychologist at Manville training will also include the assessment and evaluation of students requiring 3-year re-evaluations to determine continued eligibility for special education services. Assessments are comprehensive and include psychological evaluation and diagnostic impressions. There will also be opportunities to complete evaluations as part of Manvilles new Assessment Consultation and Evaluation (ACE) classroom which is designed for students needing 40 or 45 day assessments. The postdoctoral fellow will receive training and supervision in evidence-based interventions for children and adolescents including potential certification in the Modular Approach to Therapy for Children (MATCH). Applicants will also receive supervision to meet Massachusetts psychology licensure requirements during the fellowship year. Appointment as a fellow at Harvard Medical School is available for the qualified successful applicant.
