Description

Do you want to contribute to climate adaptation strategies in coastal areas across Danish and German borders We are looking for a dedicated Academic Assistant to join the Interreg project ClimateBlue for a period of 1 year and 3 months with the possibility of extension. The project aims to increase knowledge and build social capital to support the development of local regional and national long-term strategies for climate adaptation in coastal regions.

About the Position:

As an Academic Assistant you will play a key role in delivering Subgoal 2: Place-based scientific knowledge base and scenarios for case studies. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Organizing and participating in meetings with Danish municipalities and German stakeholders to assess needs for climate-related model projections (e.g. sea-level rise erosion) and potential solutions (e.g. citizen engagement coastal protection nature-based solutions).
  • Contributing to the development and discussion of case studies with project partners.
  • Establishing a cross-border GIS database/dashboard.
  • Performing GIS data analysis and presenting results to project partners and network partners.
  • Participating in project meetings including subgoal meetings partner and network meetings and when relevant steering committee meetings.

  • Holds a relevant educational background.
  • Has experience with GIS and data analysis.
  • Communicates effectively and collaborates well with diverse stakeholders.
  • Works independently and in a structured manner.
