About the role

Join a team that champions student voice and experience. As the Student Representation Administrative Officer youll play a vital role in supporting UOWs student associations and Student Advisory Council deliver on their commitments to the UOW student community. This position is all about ensuring smooth operations and governance requirements fostering collaboration and supporting students to deliver events and initiatives that empower the UOW student community. Youll be the go-to person for administrative support making sure our student networks thrive and continue to create an inclusive vibrant campus community.

Key responsibilities

  • Administration and processes: Manage day-to-day operations for student associations and networks including WUSA WUPA other collectives and the Student Advisory Council.
  • Be the first point of contact: Respond to student enquiries via email phone and in person.
  • Support events and activities: Coordinate bookings logistics and procurement for student-led initiatives.
  • Maintain essential systems: Oversee records lists and financial processes like purchasing.
  • Enable collaboration: Prepare agendas and minutes for the Student Advisory Council and provide updates to student leaders.
  • Champion compliance and quality: Ensure record keeping aligns with UOW requirements and maintain accurate data for reporting.

About you

You are an organised and proactive problem-solver who thrives in a student-facing dynamic environment. You have an understanding and appreciation for students and the experiences theyre aspiring to create to make UOW a thriving community for all students.

You are able to move between a student facing role and administration record keeping and back-end systems. You are creative and innovative looking at how things are done and exploring ways to improve do-better. Confidence with common office software/systems and open to learning new processes.

You are a confident communicator and have an appreciation for forming trusted relationships supporting colleagues and stakeholders achieve their goals. You have a commitment to EDI championing and supporting students of all backgrounds to build community and connect through your exceptional service.
Its helpful but not essential if you understand the higher education landscape or have had experience with student representation.
