About Longhorn Wellness Center

The Longhorn Wellness Center (LWC) is a department in the Division of Student Affairs that promotes student and campus well-being through programs education health messages student engagement and collaboration.

Purpose

The LWC is hiring for an Administrative Student Assistant. This position will provide front office area support to students and patrons visiting our office. The student in this role will also provide program support to LWC coordinators.

Responsibilities

  • Act as front office area assistant by providing friendly service when assisting guests that enter or call LWC.

  • Assist with daily office operations including opening/closing and helping students access health resources.

  • Manage office supply inventory including requests and distribution of program materials.

  • Support events meetings and programs hosted by LWC including set up/breakdown.

  • Manage documents including creating spreadsheets printing copying scanning and laminating.

  • Conduct project research on an as needed basis.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Enrolled in at least 6 credit hours during semester in which you are applying.

  • Background and/or interest in health and wellness (through education or other experiences).

  • Ability to consistently arrive on time and adhere to scheduled work hours.

  • Ability to work autonomously and take lead in problem solving.

Preferred Qualifications (Include experience and skills as needed)

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel & PowerPoint.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Desire to contribute towards a positive office culture.

  • Interest in learning and developing career skills.

Salary Range

Undergraduate pay: $10.00 per hour

Students will receive a $0.50 increase at the start of each fall semester after completing one academic year working with Healthyhorns.

Working Conditions

  • Typical office environment

Work Shift

  • The position is expected to work 10-15 hours per week.

  • This position will start in January with the possibility of continuing employment beyond the 2025-2026 academic year.

  • Hours will be completed onsite.
