Position Summary
Hertz Arena is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented AV Intern to support live event production and in-house audio-visual operations. This hands-on internship provides real-world experience in a fast-paced professional arena environment supporting concerts sporting events and special events. The AV Intern will work closely with the AV Technician and the Director of Creative & AV to assist with setup operation and teardown of AV systems while gaining exposure to industry-standard equipment and workflows.

Position Summary
Hertz Arena is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented AV Intern to support live event production and in-house audio-visual operations. This hands-on internship provides real-world experience in a fast-paced professional arena environment supporting concerts sporting events and special events. The AV Intern will work closely with the AV Technician and the Director of Creative & AV to assist with setup operation and teardown of AV systems while gaining exposure to industry-standard equipment and workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with setup operation and breakdown of audio video and lighting equipment for events
- Support live event production including concerts and hockey games
- Aid in basic audio tasks such as microphone placement cabling and sound checks
- Help maintain and organize AV equipment storage areas and workspaces
- Assist with troubleshooting basic technical issues under supervision
- Follow all safety procedures and venue policies during event operations
- Collaborate with full-time staff part-time staff and visiting production crews
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Current enrollment or recent graduate in Audio-Visual Technology Broadcast Media Production Live Event Production or a related field
- Strong interest in live event production and audio-visual technology
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights weekends and holidays
- Willingness to learn and take direction in a fast-paced environment
- Strong work ethic reliability and attention to detail
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Comfortable working in loud live-event environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of audio video or lighting systems
- Familiarity with professional AV equipment (mixing consoles microphones cameras LED walls etc.)
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite broadcast systems or live production software
- Prior experience in live events theatre broadcast or sports production (academic or practical)
