Position Summary
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced and compassionate Radiation Therapist for a full-time 13-week contract assignment in New York NY. This role is responsible for delivering prescribed radiation therapy treatments with precision and care under the direction of a Radiation Oncologist. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical expertise strict adherence to safety protocols and a patient-centered approach to care.
Responsibilities
Accurately position patients and administer therapeutic radiation treatments according to physician prescriptions.
Prepare treatment rooms and fabricate immobilization devices field parameters and shielding as required.
Review treatment prescriptions prior to administration to ensure accuracy and prevent technical or mathematical errors.
Obtain and evaluate port images/beam films to confirm treatment field accuracy; ensure physician approval.
Educate patients on treatment procedures address concerns and maintain continuous visual and audio monitoring during sessions.
Monitor patients for changes in condition or adverse reactions and promptly report findings to the oncology care team.
Perform and document daily quality assurance (QA) and safety checks on treatment equipment.
Demonstrate thorough knowledge of treatment equipment including wedges and filters; identify and report malfunctions immediately.
Maintain accurate daily treatment documentation within the record-and-verify system (Mosaiq EMR).
Participate in chart rounds in-service training and assist with scheduling and chart checks as needed.
Support the instruction and evaluation of student radiation therapists during clinical rotations.
Maintain a clean organized and well-stocked treatment environment.
Qualifications
Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiation Therapy program (required).
Current ARRT(T) certification (required).
Active New York State Radiation Therapist license (required).
Minimum of two (2) years of recent clinical experience as a Radiation Therapist.
Hands-on experience with Varian TrueBeam linear accelerators (required).
Proficiency with Mosaiq EMR (required).
Ability to perform basic dose calculations.
