OurStudioEngineering team is seeking ahighly motivatedengineering studentthat willwork on innovationinitiativesat our Advance Design Studio inPasadenaCalifornia andwill co-develop projects toenable future technologies and productsaligned with General Motors ZeroZeroZerovision.
This position offers a unique opportunity for interns to gain hands-on experience in innovative engineering solutions and work with a multi-disciplinary team.
WhatYoullDo:
Support engineering feasibility studies and create basic physical and math models supporting vehicle concepts.
Application of First Principles Engineering supporting multidisciplinary project ideation and development.
Create andfacilitateengineering requirements to supportthe Studiodesign.
Developoccupant packaging studies in support of new vehicle concepts
Apply Design Thinking to create innovative solutions Identify pain points define measurement metrics for successparticipate/lead brainstorming sessions develop alternatives and select technical solutions.
Develop proposals to resolve issues.
Work withcreativedesigners modelers otherengineers and fabrication personnel in the development of a scale model.
Required Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a bachelors degree or Masters degree inMechanical Engineeringor related degree
Knowledge in CAD software (NX preferred)
Must be graduating betweenDecember 2026 and May 2028
Able to work fulltime40 hoursper week during the summer months
Whatwillgiveyou a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
Knowledge in Unigraphics(NX)
KnowledgeinFEA analysis.
Strong interest in Automotive Engineering and Creative Design.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to solve complex problems and leadateam to consensus when needed.
Demonstrate a high-levelanalytical ability where problems are unusual or difficult.
Start dates for this internship role are May & June of2026.
Compensation:
The monthly salaryrangefor this role is$5300- $6900dependentupon degree and job location.
GMwill provide aone-time lumpsum taxable stipend payment to eligible students selected for the2026Student Program.
