Coordinator Service II (Surplus)

Under the general direction of the Surplus Sales Coordinator the Surplus Coordinator Service II coordinates all aspects of a retail store operation. This includes directing and assisting employees in the timely retrieval of surplused items inventorying display and correct pricing of received items. Processing payments to complete sales of these items and assisting in the loading and delivery of items as needed.

• Ensures the store is open and ready for sales Monday thru Friday at 8:00am
• Assigns daily work projects and hours for student employees.
• When necessary personally assists in work projects and the moving of items.
• Ensures that all Disposal Records are inventoried and reported accurately and completely.
• Responsible for the proper pricing arrangement and display of surplus items for sale.
• Conducts live bids on items as necessary.
• Travel to Statewide campuses as needed.
• Maintains correct balances in the sales till including Credit Card Checks and Cash.
• Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Two (2) years of related work experience or an associates degree is required.
• Must adhere to the university driving and traveling policy and be certified as a forklift operator or must be willing to become Forklift Certified through USU Training.
• Must have experience working with customers in a retail environment.
• Must have experience handling cash.

This position requires considerable physical activity. Employees must have sufficient strength to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position including heavy lifting (up to 100 lbs.) and/or pushing and pulling of heavy objects.
