Job Summary
Position: Mainframe Architect Senior Technical Lead
Location: Noida/Chennai.
Experience:8-10 Years
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide end-to-end technical leadership for business-critical Mainframe applications
- Lead design development enhancement and support of applications using COBOL DB2 and JCL
- Act as the technical point of contact for client stakeholders and delivery teams
- Analyze and resolve complex production issues ensuring high system availability and stability
- Perform root cause analysis and drive permanent corrective and preventive actions
- Review and approve technical designs code and implementation approaches
- Ensure adherence to coding standards performance benchmarks and security guidelines
- Oversee batch processing job scheduling restart/recovery and performance optimization
- Support release planning deployments and post-release validations
- Mentor team members and ensure technical knowledge continuity
- Identify technical risks and dependencies and propose mitigation strategies
- Provide inputs for effort estimation planning and continuous improvement initiatives
Must-Have Skills
- Strong expertise in Mainframe technologies: COBOL (Batch) JCL
- In-depth knowledge of DB2 including SQL development and performance tuning
- Proven experience in Application Maintenance & Development (ADM / AMS)
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for complex production issues
- Experience working with ITSM processes (incident problem change management)
- Ability to lead technical teams in onshoreoffshore delivery models
- Excellent communication skills in a client-facing environment
Good-to-Have Skills
- Experience in banking insurance or other regulated domains
- Exposure to Mainframe modernization or transformation programs
- Knowledge of batch scheduling tools and performance optimization techniques
- Familiarity with audit compliance and regulatory requirements
- Understanding of DevOps or automation concepts for Mainframe environments
Qualifications :
Bachelor in Engineering/ Computer Science
Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
