Role Overview
The Mid-Level Mechanical & HVAC Design Engineer to independently able to design development and
delivery of mechanical and HVAC systems for data center projects.
This role is hands-on and execution-focused bridging engineering calculations layouts schematics
and BIM coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Design Development & Engineering
- Develop HVAC schematics single-line diagrams and layouts under guidance of the Senior Engineer.
- Perform heat gain/loss calculations pipe and duct sizing and equipment selection support.
- Prepare and update Basis of Design inputs and design documentation.
- Support preparation of BOQs technical specifications and equipment schedules.
- Perform CFD analysis (optional)
BIM & Coordination
- Coordinate with the HVAC BIM engineer to ensure accurate Revit models and drawings.
- Participate in MEP coordination workshops and resolve design clashes.
- Review BIM outputs for compliance with design intent.
Quality & Delivery
- Ensure deliverables meet project standards timelines and QA/QC requirements.
- Incorporate review comments from Senior Engineers and other disciplines.
- Support construction-phase queries and design clarifications.
Qualifications :
- BE / BTech / MTech in Mechanical Engineering
- 610 years of overall experience
- 35 years of experience in data center or mission-critical facilities
Additional Information :
Mandatory Skills & Experience
- Strong working knowledge of data center HVAC systems including air and liquid cooling concepts.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; working knowledge of Revit.
- Understanding of Uptime Tier concepts and mission-critical design principles.
- Ability to interpret CFD results and system performance data.
Communication Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including preparation of technical reports design narratives and client-facing documentation.
- Strong professional presence in front of clients and stakeholders with the ability to confidently explain design intent highlight risks lead technical discussions and drive issue resolution.
- Plus the Ability to clearly explain design issues to senior engineers and participate in client or coordination meetings as required supporting effective issue resolution.
