THE POSITION
EXD/PBF is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to serve as a functional lead and architect for Financial Systems solutions. The selected candidate will drive the design delivery and evolution of financial systems while coordinating across business and IT teams. The function balances strategic vision solution design and leadership ensuring that Finance systems enable innovation efficiency and seamless user experiences.
This function involves close collaboration with the Financial Systems users community (within or outside of EXD/PBF) and the Digital Knowledge and Information Service (EXD/DKI).
The selected candidate will report directly to the Head of the Financial Systems and Support (FSS) Group.
Main Responsibilities
Solution Definition and Delivery
- Lead functional design: process mapping gap analysis UI definition integration and specifications.
- Translate business requirements into high-quality solutions ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture.
- Coordinate multiple projects defining workstreams and overseeing delivery from initiation to implementation.
- Promote innovative digital-first approaches to improve user experience and operational efficiency.
- Assess third-party software solutions and integration opportunities for fit and value.
System Administration
- Monitor and track critical access and SoD compliance across SAP finance modules generating reports and coordinating with IT and business stakeholders to mitigate risks.
- Conduct similar system administration activities for other systems as possible.
Stakeholder Management and Leadership
- Act as primary liaison between Finance stakeholders and IT development teams.
- Lead cross-functional workshops requirements-gathering sessions and solution validation.
- Mentor junior analysts and ensure functional quality standards across deliverables.
Testing Support and Documentation
- Oversee integration and user acceptance testing; manage issue resolution and approval workflows.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation including functional design manuals and training guides.
- Provide second-line support for complex incidents and coordinate resolution with IT teams.
Strategic Alignment and Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to strategies that support business transformation innovation and process optimisation.
- Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation within the SAP ecosystem.
- Participate in governance and architecture discussions to ensure future scalability sustainability and security of application solutions.

Ideal Candidate Profile
Academic Background
- Advanced university degree in Business Administration Finance Information Systems Computer Science or a related field.
Professional Background
- Minimum of seven years of relevant experience in SAP FI/FM or FI/CO functional roles including leadership or architecture addition experience with other finance systems would be an advantage.
- Proven experience delivering IT projects across their full lifecycle with demonstrated project leadership capabilities.
- Proven track record of leveraging new and emerging technologies digital tools data analytics and automation to drive process improvement and organisational transformation.
- Awareness of SAP innovations (S/4HANA Fiori automation).
- Strong understanding of finance processes accounting principles and enterprise systems.
- Ability to work independently and mentor junior team members.
- Solid understanding of administrative financial and procurement workflows and business processes.
- Proven experience demonstrating a collaborative mindset critical thinking and strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to liaise effectively with senior stakeholders on critical issues.
Tools
- Strong functional understanding of core SAP modules including: FI (Financial Accounting) MM (Materials Management) TR (Treasury) FM (Funds Management) PS (Project Systems) SRM (Supplier Relationship Management) TV and GM (Grants Management).
- Ability to interpret and validate SAP customizing done by configuration teams.
- Strong skills in producing functional documentation test cases and end-user manuals.
- Ability to work with technical teams on interface design.
- Experience with SAP BI SAP Fiori SAP GUI and reporting tools would be an advantage. Additional finance system experience would be an advantage.
- Experience with data visualization and user-centric digital platforms is highly valued.
Languages
- Fluency in one of the two OECD official languages (English and French) and a knowledge of or a willingness to learn the other.
