Job Summary
SERVICE DISPATCHER GMC
Location: Oakes GMC Kansas City MO
Schedule: Full-Time MondayFriday
Compensation: $3500$5500 per month based on experience and performance
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Service Dispatcher plays a critical role in keeping the GMC service drive running efficiently. This position manages technician workflow assigns repair orders and coordinates with advisors and parts to ensure jobs move through the shop with minimal downtime. WHAT YOULL DO
Manage daily shop workflow by assigning repair orders based on technician skill level certifications job type and workload
Monitor technician productivity efficiency and utilization throughout the day and adjust work as needed
Coordinate with the Parts department to confirm availability manage backorders and respond to ETA changes
Communicate job status delays and diagnostic needs to service advisors to support accurate customer expectations
Control cycle time by prioritizing waiters same-day promises and internal recon work
Identify workflow bottlenecks technician overload and potential quality concerns
Prepare the next days workload to ensure technicians can begin working immediately
WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR
Were looking for someone with prior experience in a dealership service department preferably with GM who has a strong understanding of technician workflow and shop operations. The right candidate is organized detail-oriented and comfortable making real-time decisions throughout the day. Clear communication is key as this role works closely with service advisors technicians and the parts department. This position requires someone who can stay focused and effective in a fast-paced structured environment.
REQUIREMENTS
Valid drivers license with a clean or acceptable driving record
Ability to pass a standard background check
Strong reliability and consistent attendance
Comfortable working in a fast-paced customer-focused environment
Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new systems
Previous service department or dispatcher experience preferred
