PURPOSE
The Business and Industry Engagement Coordinator is responsible for planning implementing coordinating and evaluating work-based learning experiences programming with a focus on engaging business and industry partners.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Assist the Director and Assistant Director(s) in defining plans goals policies and procedures for program development.
- Maintain a current list of active industry partners willing to provide high-quality work-based learning opportunities.
- Recruit new industry partners to provide high-quality work-based learning opportunities for students.
- Coordinate cooperative education internships job shadowing mentorships apprenticeships service learning high-quality field trips and other work-based learning opportunities that arise.
- Match industry partner interests with student work-based learning opportunities.
- Create modify and renew required documentation for work-based learning opportunities.
- Disseminate information regarding work-based learning to parents students teachers and other staff.
- Assist with career development of students.
- Attend various meetings with stakeholders.
- Assist in planning common advisory committee meetings for building-wide professional development.
- Maintain relationships with a variety of external stakeholders in the community including but not limited to; local employers local economic boards city government and post-secondary institutions.
- Assist with the yearly follow-up on recently graduated students.
- Develop and recruit active industry partners to provide high-quality work-based learning opportunities.
Perform other duties as necessary to support the mission and vision of Columbia Public School District.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum: Hold Missouri Career Services Coordinator certificate or ability to obtain; hold Missouri Career Education Counselor certification or ability to obtain; or hold Missouri Career Education teacher certification.
Preferred: Program management experience; Experience in a program focusing on career services for students.
Ideal Candidate will have a professional and friendly demeanor with a demonstrated ability to work well with a variety of individuals in a fast-paced environment.
