Job Description
Role Purpose
The Senior Manager Trade Planning is responsible for defining and executing category-specific trade strategies that drive sustainable growth profitability and customer value. This role leads end-to-end category trade planning ensures strong alignment with corporate trade initiatives and builds a high-performing team culture that delivers results in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Category Trade Strategy & Execution
- Develop and lead innovative forward-looking category trade strategies aligned with overall business objectives customer needs and market dynamics.
- Drive category success by anticipating future trends competitive landscape shifts and evolving shopper behaviors.
- Partner closely with the Merchandising team to identify growth opportunities define trade and promotional priorities and maximize category performance.
- Lead end-to-end planning execution and optimization of category trade campaigns and key trading events.
- Monitor analyze and evaluate campaign performance across sales profitability and customer metrics; translate insights into actionable strategic recommendations for continuous improvement.
2. Corporate Trade Alignment
- Collaborate with the Corporate Trade team to integrate category trade plans into company-wide trade campaigns and strategic initiatives.
- Ensure consistency alignment and synergy between category-level execution and broader corporate trade strategies.
- Act as a key liaison to ensure category objectives are effectively represented in enterprise trade planning.
3. Team Leadership & Working Culture
- Take ownership in fostering a one-team and can-do culture within the Trade Planning team and across cross-functional stakeholders.
- Lead coach and mentor a team of category trade planners promoting strategic thinking collaboration and accountability.
- Build and strengthen team capabilities in trade planning data analytics performance management and stakeholder engagement.
- Encourage continuous improvement resilience and innovation within the team.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Business Marketing or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in trade planning category management retail strategy or related functions with at least 5 years in a people leadership role.
- Strong strategic and analytical capability with a deep understanding of category dynamics customer behavior and retail performance drivers.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders in a complex organization.
- Excellent communication project management and decision-making skills.
