Summary:
The Service Manager for Inclusion is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategic management of employees financial resources and physical assets within the Inclusion service area. Working as part of the Senior Management Team within Childrens Services the post-holder ensures the Council fulfills its statutory duties regarding the SEND Code of Practice and supported transport. A primary focus of the role is to drive service improvements identify efficiencies and contribute to the boroughs wider education improvement and SEND Implementation Plan
Responsibilities:
- Providing direct line management to team managers conducting appraisals and overseeing induction supervision and disciplinary procedures
- Leading the development and delivery of services to meet OFSTED and CQC frameworks (Joint Area SEND Inspections).
- Working with internal and external partners including Head Teachers and health/social care organizations to agree on joint priorities and improve outcomes for service users.
- Ensuring physical resources meet Health and Safety standards and monitoring sickness absence to manage Local Authority risk.
- Contributing to the corporate management of the department and deputising for the Head of Service when required.
Qualification:
- A recognized professional qualification in Social Care Education or an equivalent field is essential.
- Educated to a suitable level for a senior management position.
Essentials:
- Proven track record of managing staff substantial budgets and physical resources.
- Substantial experience working within Inclusion (SEND) Education Health or Social Care.
- Significant experience operating as part of a senior team and providing strategic direction.
