Job Summary
Maersk Filipinas Crewing Inc. (Marine People Philippines) is looking for competent Second Engineer with relevant seagoing experience willing to be trained challenged and expand their knowledge onboard our technically advanced container vessels with the best and latest machinery.
A key position in the engine department onboard one of the worlds largest Container shipping company where seafarers are onboarded and equipped to perform and contribute to deliver the vessel commitments. Seafarers are trained and guided in achieving their personal development and career advancement. We ensure to prioritize health and safety promote diversity and inclusion and at all times carry out the upright practice both at sea and ashore.
Recruitment Criteria:
- At least 12 months seatime* in rank experience
- At least one contract as Senior Engineer with UMS and 20000 BHP of relevant engine types
Key Responsibilities:
- Always ensure safe and reliable operation of the vessel making use of the knowledge and experience of his/her officers.
-Maintain all machinery on deck and in engine room in his / her area of responsibility as required by the PMS and as directed by Chief Engineer
- Instruct and supervise all crewmembers in the use of safety environmental protection firefighting and lifesaving equipment
- Preparing and monitoring work plans for other engineers and engine ratings.
- Understand the importance of briefing and debriefing to ensure efficient teamwork.
