Swim Instructor, Camp Grossman

The aquatics team is a lively and fun group to work with. We are seeking new team members whopossesshigh standardsa strongcustomer service orientation and great teamwork job reports to the Camp Grossman Waterfront Aquatics Director.

Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Ensuresthe safety of everycamperthrough education and attentiveness.

• Teachesswimmers using predesigned lessons. Sessions may be with individuals or groups. Lessonswillrequirehands-onwork in thewaterwith young children.

• Builds swimmers confidence skills and love of swimming

• Tracksskill development (record keeping).

• Sets up and breaks down equipment.

• Enforces the rules and regulations of thewaterfrontconsistently

• Maintains good working relationships withcampstaff membersaquaticspersonnel and administrative personnel.

• Resolves concernsprofessionally or escalates them asappropriate.

• Able and willing to follow directions fromsupervisors andfollowsprotocols.

• Develops professional relationships withcampers.

• Attends all mandatorytrainingsand in-services.

• Supports JCC goals andobjectives.

• Other activities as required by the organization.

JOB DETAILS: We are an outdoor camp located on beautiful wooded property in Dover MA. The regular camp day runs from 8:30 - 4:00 Monday - Friday for the camp addition Waterfront Staff are expected to attend 4 staff meetings on Monday afternoons at Camp and/or evenings at JCC Greater Boston. Waterfront Staff also work a Sunday Family Day on Sunday July 26. Offering great perks including JCC Health & Fitness center access a supportive vibrant in-person work environment and a competitive starting pay rate range of $25-$30 per hour. This is a limited part-time (2-25 hours per week) role. The pay rate offered will ultimately be determined by relevant qualifications experience and JCCs internal equity.

• Must be 16 years of age or older attimeof hire.

Skills and Abilities:

• Able to see hear and cognitively recognize situations requiring lifeguarding services

• Capable of working ina high temperatureand high humidity environment for extended periods while wearing required personal protective equipment

• Able to make safety related decisions and perform CPR and/or first aid asrequired

• Read writeunderstandand speak English

• Must be able to use a computer

Physical Requirements:Mustmaintainan appropriate levelof fitnessin order tocompetently perform alljob relatedtasks including the ability to swim distances and dive to pool depths asdeterminedby testing/certification authorities and to lift 150 pounds or heavier weights withassistanceand/or the use of proper equipment.
