Schedule:Monday to Friday (days); limited call

As the Maintenance Manager/ Handyman youll be a crucial part of the team responsible for overseeing the seamless operations of our buildings and grounds.

Reporting to the Site Leader as the Maintenance Manager/ Handyman youll be the go-to expert implementing and maintaining a comprehensive preventative maintenance program to keep this seniors living care home in top condition for our residents guests and staff.

Maintenance Manager/ Handyman Key Responsibilities:

Oversee all building systems including electrical mechanical and grounds ensuring safety and functionality

Manage work orders preventative maintenance and asset history using our Maintenance Care software

Prioritize and execute repairs obtaining quotes from local trades suppliers and contractors

Collaborate effectively with all vendors and contractors to deliver high-quality service

Provide winter maintenance keeping sidewalks patios and exits clear of ice and snow

  • Support our fire safety program and quality assurance initiatives

Job Summary


We are seeking a skilled and proactive Building Maintenance Technician to ensure the safety functionality and efficiency of our facility. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical electrical and facilities maintenance skills along with leadership qualities to supervise maintenance activities. This role requires a detail-oriented professional capable of troubleshooting complex systems and implementing preventative maintenance strategies to support our manufacturing operations.

Duties

  • Supervise maintenance staff or contractors during repair or installation projects ensuring safety protocols are followed.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment adhering to all safety standards and procedures.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operations.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing facility-related concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building systems including HVAC plumbing electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair issues related to electrical systems programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and mechanical components using schematics and technical manuals.
  • Operate and maintain CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to track work orders inventory and maintenance history.
  • Conduct welding repairs and fabricate parts as needed for facility upkeep
  • Read and interpret schematics wiring diagrams and technical drawings to diagnose problems accurately.

Experience

  • Supervising experience in a facilities maintenance or manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Proven knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and electrical systems within industrial settings.
  • Experience with CMMS software for managing maintenance workflows.
  • Skilled in welding techniques and mechanical repairs with a solid understanding of schematics.
  • Electrical experience including troubleshooting electrical circuits and components.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge related to manufacturing facilities maintenance.
  • Ability to read technical schematics wiring diagrams and facility blueprints effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and team coordination.
