Job Summary

Job Title:Head of Accounting & Finance (A&F)

Location:Scottsdale AZ

Compensation:$120K base discretionary bonus

Work Type:100% On-Site

The Kostelic Agency (TKA) has been exclusively engaged on aconfidential searchfor aHead of Accounting & Finance (A&F)to join alocally owned family-run organizationin Scottsdale that has experienced significant growth and is projected to reach$50M in revenue over the next few years.

This is anewly created leadership roledesigned to bring structure clarity and forward-looking financial insight to the business as it continues to scale. Ownership is seeking a steady experienced professional who can own theentire accounting functionwhile also providingfinance and FP&A-level insightto support better operational and strategic decisions.

This role offers apredictable 4045 hour workweek minimal after-hours demands and a high-trust partnership with ownership.

The Role (Accounting Finance / FP&A Blend)

This position sits at the intersection ofController-level accounting ownershipandpractical operator-focused finance. The Head of A&F will be responsible for accurate financials while also analyzing performance identifying inefficiencies and helping leadership understand where money is being spentand where it can be better deployed.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting & Reporting

Own the general ledger monthly close and financial statement preparation
Ensure accuracy consistency and reliability of financial reporting
Oversee AP AR bank reconciliations payroll oversight and account reviews
Maintain and improve internal controls policies and documentation
Coordinate with external partners (CPA tax payroll banking as needed)

Finance & FP&A

Build and maintain budgets forecasts and cash flow models
Analyze financial performance margins and operating expenses
Identify areas of inefficiency overspending or process breakdowns
Provide clear actionable reporting and commentary to ownership
Support decision-making around pricing staffing and operational investments

Process Improvement & Systems

Improve accounting workflows and close timelines
Partner with operations to improve data quality and reporting accuracy
Support system improvements and light automation where appropriate
Bring structure without overcomplicating the business

Leadership & Partnership

Serve as a trusted financial partner to ownership and operations
Manage and collaborate with a bookkeeper handling day-to-day entries
Bring professionalism discretion and sound judgment to all interactions

Ideal Background

812 years of progressive experience across accounting and finance
Strong technical accounting foundation with hands-on close ownership
Experience in an operating environment (not purely corporate or siloed)
Comfortable producing financialsandexplaining the story behind them
Preference for stability balance and long-term contribution
