BronxWorks helps individuals and families improve their economic and social well-being. From toddlers to seniors we feed shelter teach and support our neighbors to build a stronger all aspects of our work we strive for the highest ethical and performance standards and are guided by the belief that people are to be treated with dignity and respect regardless of their present situation or past experiences.
Across our 60 locations we provide programs in a variety of service areas including workforce development children youth families seniors and homeless prevention.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage a full caseload for a diverse client population
- Conduct intakes and assessment and input information in database (provided by funder) and Salesforce
- Provide clients with internal and external referrals as needed
- Perform client advocacy and follow-ups services
- Document client progress and all interactions with or on behalf of clients in the database
- Complete training needed to facilitate information to targeted communities (catchment areas in provided Community Districts; BXand 11)
- Participate in community outreach events as scheduled
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors Degree/HS/GED with 1 year experience processing childcare vouchers
- Bilingual both verbal and written preferred
- Proficiency in modern business communications including personal computers electronic mail voicemail and copier equipment
- Proficiency in virtual platforms is preferred
- Develop a customized service plan with clients outlining action steps and responsibilities.
- Assist the client with obtaining necessary documentation to recertify their existing ACS Childcare voucher. This includes catchment areas in the following community districts in the Bronx (catchment areas; BXand 11)
- Conduct follows ups to families (using multiple sources such as text email phone or in person (if required) to ensure they can sustain their childcare benefit.
- Maintain up to date case files and database entries as well as regular contact with clients via office visits telephone contact and home visits.
- Coordinate client referrals for other needed services
- Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Ability to stand walk or sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to bend and retrieve objects and/or documents.
- Ability to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent counties via public transportation.
- Ability to travel for a minimum of 1 mile within a reasonable amount of time and in all types of weather including inclement weather if required to conduct home visits and/or field work.
