The Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center (MSAHC or the Center) works to break down economic barriers to health care and wellness for young people by providing vital services - high quality comprehensive integrated and confidential - for all who come to the Center or school based health facilities at no cost to them. The MSAHC advances adolescent and young adult health as a national imperative by serving as a leading center of clinical care specialized training innovative research and advocacy.
TheMount Sinai Adolescent Health Center Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist will be responsible for direct clinical care to include assessment and evaluation for and provision of medication prescribing and management for youth 10-26 years of age.
This professional will be charged with ensuring that the above functions are developed managed and delivered within a culture that is youth-centric high quality integrated and collaborative as well as in accordance with Mount Sinais policies and procedures New York State regulations and guidelines and funder expectations.
Responsibilities- Direct Patient Care at the MSAHC:
- Provide psychiatric services to MSAHC patients including assessment and evaluation and psychopharmacological services.
- Provide psychiatric consultation and clinical consultation to MSAHC mental health practitioners as indicated.
- Comply with all mental health care protocols consistent with established practice standards and evidence-informed best practices.
- Maintain quality mental health care services through participation in various quality assurance mechanisms and trainings.
- Comply with changes to existing mental health protocols and processes as identified through the MSAHC PI process.
- Work collaboratively with the MSAHC Chief Psychiatrist in the provision of academic activities.
Administrative
- Timely and compliant closure of chart.
- Participate in quality assurance mechanisms and monitoring of the quality of mental health services provided
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
Maximize Capacity and Access
- Participate in an interdisciplinary effort that fosters a cohesive culture across all levels of staff and providers with improved communication and accountability
Compliance
- Ensure the NYS Office of Mental Health Standards of Care and Article 28 and 31 regulations are adhered to in all aspects of clinical service delivery reporting incident review and high-risk case management;
- Participate in the Incident Review Committee Meetings and the high risk meetings
- Work collaboratively with MSAHCs Research and other staff to evaluate and disseminate practice-based processes as needed
Qualifications- BC in Psychiatry from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
- BC / BE in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
- Must be licensed as a Psychiatrist by the State of New York
Experience:
- Commitment to MSAHCs mission vision and approach in order to ensure a patient-centric culture which is collaborative and multidisciplinary;
- A passion for working with young people and a work ethic in which a commitment to understanding and solving the needs of each patient is a priority;
- Must have clinical experience serving patient populations and providing therapeutic interventions similar to those provided by The MSAHC
- Must be experienced in providing evidence-based treatment interventions with focus on achieving measurable positive outcomes.
- Bilingual Spanish speaking preferred.
- A demonstrated commitment to diversity equity inclusion and belonging;
- Cultural competency to serve diverse patient population.
- Excellent interpersonal organization and service skills and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Possess solid general computer skills.
- Personal qualities of integrity credibility empathy compassion and patience;
- A multi-tasker with the ability to respond to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Compensation range from Days 240k to 280k (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits).
