Production Planning & Logistics Manager
JOB SUMMARY:
Act as a point of contact within the San Angelo leadership Team and related functions within Business Units and/or third parties for the coordination of all technical aspects of Supply Chain Management. Manage the supply chain process and performance including tactical performance in regard to capacity planning and utilization required to meet inventory levels at the distribution center and to customers. Optimize supply chain activities to improve business performance in cycle time yield cost efficiency customer service inventory and other key metrics.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under general direction of the Dir. Production Planning and Logistics and in accordance with all applicable federal state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson procedures and guidelines this position is:
Responsible for supervising production planning based on PSRs received.
Participates in the production planning process as required.
Communicates to Business Unit Manager volume strategies based on customer needs any changes in production schedules.
Prepares and Lead the site volume Business Plan SSR review (S&OP Process) and monitor the customer service weekly review.
Approves purchase orders as required.
Responsible for timely shipments of finished goods to the main distribution centers and interplant shipments of raw material product.
Support claims for damage or lost cargo.
Participates in the design and implementation of computer programs for purchasing planning warehousing and duplicating functions.
Establishes annual department goals and objectives.
Prepares and administers approved department budget.
Prepares and coordinates approvals of material control policies.
Prepares performance evaluations of subordinate staff and recommends appropriate annual salary adjustments.
Liaison to the purchasing activity of manufacturing supplies and machinery equipment.
Recommend Capital Expenditures.
Approves operating procedure changes facilities and equipment changes.
Perform all assigned jobs in compliance with established GMPs while maintaining the highest level of quality in every task.
Directly supervise employees in the PP&L Department.
Carriers out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interview hiring and training associate; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and discipline associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Bi-Annual Cycle Counting Walkthrough with Inventory Specialist to perform a department audit
Comply with all environmental safety and occupational health policies (i.e. ISO14001 & OSHAS 18001)

Bilingual English and Spanish preferable.
Exercise good interpersonal relationships.
Effective communication skills to communicate with personnel in other departments.
Advance computer skills and use of software application(s).
RESPONSIBILITY FOR OTHERS & INTERNAL INTERACTIONS
Acting as the main office support for the department
Works with other department such as Engineering Quality Finance Operations to make sure production numbers are achieved.
Participates in different forums across the site as part of Staff
LOCATION & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
The primary location of the Production Planning and Logistic Manager is on site at Ethicon San Angelo Texas.
10% of expected travel for domestic international or both.
EXTERNAL INTERACTIONS:
Communicates with external and interplant partners manage / lead the San Angelo slowdown / shutdown activities along with other North America interplants the MFG raw material sites and purchase raw material department for external suppliers.
