Position Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced AV Lead Technician to lead on-site installation teams and subcontractors on commercial AV projects. This role is hands-on and leadership-focused ensuring installations are completed according to design specifications industry standards project schedules and budget requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and support on-site AV installation teams and subcontractors
Coordinate staffing needs and ensure crews have the proper tools and resources
Work closely with the AV Project Manager to request materials track deliveries and manage on-site logistics
Record equipment serial numbers and manage on-site material inventory
Track labor hours and material usage throughout the project lifecycle
Maintain daily job journals inventory logs and field documentation to keep projects on schedule
Perform daily on-site inspections to ensure work quality and compliance
Provide technical support and guidance to field personnel
Identify and communicate scope changes equipment issues or material failures to the AV Project Manager and design team
Assist with field documentation including as-built drawings cable certification reports and warranties
Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors
Stay current with emerging AV technologies and best practices
Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required; associate or bachelors degree preferred
3 years of experience in commercial audio-visual installation
Strong working knowledge of commercial AV systems and infrastructure
Ability to read and interpret scopes of work blueprints and line drawings
Experience creating and configuring DSP files (QSC Biamp preferred)
Experience loading testing and troubleshooting control systems and touch panels (Crestron Extron)
OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour certification preferred
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to lead teams and drive results in the field
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple demands
Comfortable training and mentoring technicians
Strong customer-facing and teamwork skills
Valid drivers license with a clean driving record

Physical & Work Environment

Ability to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
Ability to perform close-vision work
Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments including active construction and customer sites

Required Skills:

Job Requirements: Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with QCS controls Biamp Audio DSP Shure and Intelix. Great to have: AVPro Edge and Visionary Solutions for VoIP / switchers Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with AV equipment Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP networking switches routers firewalls are preferred. Advanced working knowledge of computers (Windows-based) and software. Maintain a positive attitude strong work ethic and embrace a team-centric environment. Ability to read analyze and interpret complex documents including product specifications wiring diagrams and architectural drawings. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive customer inquiries or complaints. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required. Valid drivers license with minimum 3-year clean driving record. Infocomm CTS certification (within 6 months of employment start) & CTS-I within 12 months Maintain and/or acquire OSHA 10 Hr construction within 3 months from employment start.
