SUMMARY
The Community Relations and Marketing Specialist supports the Key Training Centers mission through strategic outreach community engagement and marketing initiatives. This position focuses on strengthening relationships within the community expanding visibility for the organization and promoting programs events and fundraising efforts. The Specialist works closely with the Media and Graphic Artist to ensure consistent and effective branding across all platforms. This role involves expanding the organizations presence and connections in other counties where the Key Training Center operates which necessitates regular travel to those areas.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in planning developing and executing marketing and community outreach strategies to promote the Key Training Centers programs events and services.
- Work closely with the Media and Graphic Artist to coordinate social media print materials email campaigns and other marketing efforts.
- Build and maintain relationships with community organizations local businesses media partners and civic groups to enhance visibility and support.
- Represent the Key Training Center at community events expos and presentations to share information and promote engagement.
- Identify new outreach and partnership opportunities within Citrus County and other counties where the Key Training Center operates.
- Develop and maintain a marketing calendar that aligns with organizational goals and major events.
- Conduct outreach to other counties where the Key Training Center operates to strengthen partnerships promote services and identify new marketing opportunities.
- Assist with sponsorship outreach and donor cultivation in collaboration with the Foundation team.
- Support the planning and promotion of fundraising and awareness events.
- Assist with the coordination setup/teardown and execution of Key events as needed.
- Assist in writing press releases newsletters and social media posts to maintain consistent messaging and branding.
- Track marketing metrics and community engagement data to measure campaign effectiveness.
- Maintain promotional materials inventory and coordinate distribution as needed.
- Travel as necessary within Citrus County and other counties where the Key Training Center operates for outreach events and partnership meetings.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE- High school diploma or equivalent certification; prefer one to three years related experience and/or training in areas of Marketing Communications or Public Relations.
CERTIFICATIONS LICENSES REGISTRATIONS- Valid Florida drivers license and safe driving record.
LANGUAGE SKILLS- Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES-
- Experience in community outreach marketing or public relations preferably within a nonprofit or service-oriented organization.
- Strong communication and public speaking skills with the ability to engage a variety of audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook).
- Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop Illustrator InDesign) and/or Canva.
- Experience with social media platforms and email marketing systems preferred.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with the Media and Graphic Artist to produce marketing materials and campaigns.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Self-motivated and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to travel weekly to The Villages for outreach and relationship-building efforts.
- Ability to adapt to last-minute changes and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Willingness to assist with event preparation and on-site support as part of a collaborative team.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings weekends or holidays as needed for events or outreach.
- Ability to promote a safe working environment and follow organizational safety procedures.
- Ability to embrace change in support of the organization.
