Overview
Peraton is seeking a high-impact Senior Software Engineer (SWE) with proven experience designing building and sustaining front-end and full-stack capabilities for RF SIGINT collection processing and visualization systems. This is a senior technical contributor role supporting critical national-level operations. The ideal candidate brings deep technical mastery understands mission operations and can lead teams in delivering secure high-reliability software for complex signal intelligence environments.
You will architect develop modernize and sustain advanced UI/UX components and support services for SIGINT operations integrating real-time RF data flows analytics and mission tools into intuitive operational interfaces. This role directly impacts operators and analysts working in time-sensitive mission environments.
Key Responsibilities
Mission-Focused Software Engineering
- Analyze decompose and translate mission/user requirements into scalable software architecture and performance-driven designs.
- Design and implement new UI features visualizations dashboards and mission workflows supporting RF SIGINT operations.
- Integrate front-end applications with back-end services signal processing pipelines data repositories and real-time mission environments.
System Integration & Optimization
- Integrate new and legacy software into diverse Linux UNIX and Windows operational baselines.
- Develop and optimize algorithms and interfaces supporting signal processing system performance and time-sensitive mission demands.
- Implement complex database and repository interfaces ensuring high throughput and low latency.
Full Software Lifecycle Execution
- Develop test debug and deploy mission-critical software under strict performance timing and resource constraints.
- Modify and modernize legacy software to adapt to new hardware operating environments and mission requirements.
- Create review and maintain technical documentation system design artifacts user guides and interface specifications.
Leadership & Technical Ownership
- Lead or serve as senior technical advisor for multiple development teams ensuring alignment with mission goals and software engineering best practices.
- Select or influence the software development processes (Agile SAFe Kanban etc.) used for major efforts.
- Ensure quality control of all team deliverables and enforce rigorous engineering standards.
- Work closely with systems engineers hardware engineers and mission stakeholders to refine architectures and ensure operational readiness.
Operational Interface & Mission Support
- Support installation configuration and validation of deployed systems.
- Monitor mission system functionality to ensure operational performance metrics are met.
- Recommend emerging technologies frameworks and tools that enhance mission capabilities.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 15 years experience as a Software Engineer supporting programs of equivalent scope/complexity.
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related discipline (4 additional years SWE experience may substitute the degree requirement).
- 5 years hands-on experience with RF SIGINT systems operations or mission toolchains.
- 9 years designing coding testing and debugging software on:
- Microsoft Windows (XP or later)
- UNIX/Linux (Solaris 8 Red Hat Linux)
- 10 years of senior-level development experience with:
- Java & Spring Framework
- JavaScript / TypeScript
- React (or similar front-end frameworks)
- Experience integrating and optimizing software in distributed data-intensive or signal-processing environments.
- Experience leading or mentoring software teams.
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph (mandatory).
- Knowledge of secure coding IC/DoD standards and mission accreditation constraints.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with modern DevSecOps tools and platforms:
- Docker Kubernetes
- RabbitMQ
- Apache Tomcat
- Experience implementing UI components for real-time systems or geospatial/temporal visualization.
- Familiarity with SIGINT data formats RF metadata or electronic warfare workflows.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines automated testing frameworks or cloud-hosted mission systems.

Target Salary Range
$146000 - $234000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position the individuals experience education knowledge skills and competencies as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position employees may be eligible for overtime shift differential and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
