Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager of Methods Engineering the Lead Methods Engineer Change Management manages a team of Methods Change Management Agents to oversee all design and process changes to production aircraft assemblies sub-assemblies and detailed parts; while ensuring accordance with our quality standards engineering and regulatory requirements. The Change Management team executes complex Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) in our ERP system to drive change implementations across various aircraft programs and developmental activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead mentor and coordinate the Methods Change Management team to ensure effective execution of change processes across aircraft programs.
- Facilitate and chair cross-functional harmonization and readiness meetings to align stakeholders on change scope timelines and implementation plans.
- Manage deployment of design and manufacturing changes and develop implementation plans into production with minimal disruption.
- Review and approve complex ERP and ECN changes ensuring data accuracy configuration control and compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
- Oversee impact assessments for design engineering changes guiding the team in evaluating production tooling and supply chain effects.
- Track and report on ECN performance indicators identifying trends and opportunities for streamlining process flow and increasing throughput.
- Approve and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions under the Quality Management System (QMS).
- Oversee part classification and commodity code assignments supporting Make vs Buy strategies in collaboration with internal capacity and external supply chain.
- Support investigations into technical and quality issues guiding the team on root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships with Engineering Quality Production and external partners to enable seamless change implementation.
- Ensure audit readiness by validating Bill of Material (BOM) for accuracy and traceability of implemented changes.
- Lead and contribute to process improvement projects focused on efficiency cost reduction and change management maturity.
- Represent the Change Management function in leadership forums program reviews and strategic planning sessions.
Education:
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical Aerospace Engineering or Engineering Technology or related field.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Aircraft Maintenance Engineer) in aerospace manufacturing and/or engineering will be considered.
Experience:
- 7 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing or design engineering environment preferably in the aerospace industry.
- Previous change or project management experience is considered an asset.
Skills:
- Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional environments and complex technical projects.
- Ability to deploy manage and influence multiple projects tasks and priorities working effectively both independently and collaboratively on flexible work assignments.
- Ability to assess impact of design changes and implementation plan into manufacturing.
- Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing and engineering principles and techniques.
- Ability to problem-solve complex situations by filtering prioritizing and analyzing complex and dynamic information.
- Familiar with one or more Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
- Familiar with computer aided design software such as CATIA Enovia SolidWorks etc.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer focus and good interpersonal skills.
- Advanced knowledge in MS Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint).
