Description

Confluence Water AVentia Downer and Jacobs joint venture is one of three consortia delivering services under Sydney Waters Partnering for Success program. Confluence Water delivers design construction maintenance and facilities management services in Sydney Waters North region which stretches from Sydney Harbour to the Hawkesbury River and includes the Hills Shire.

Due to a planned expansion of the capital works phase of the program we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Environment Advisor to join our high performing and progressive Environment and Sustainability Team. Our projects involve a large variety of construction methodologies that transverse many unique and challenging environments including National Parks Sydney Harbour heritage sites and areas with sensitive flora and fauna.

The primary role of the Environment and Sustainability Team is to support our construction and maintenance team across the northern region of Sydney by providing advice and technical expertise in all areas of environmental management.

THE ROLE

Day-to-day management of all projects environmental aspects including:

  • Prepare and implement Construction Environmental Management Plans sub-plans and other planning documentation to enable successful project delivery.
  • Act as an integral support function to onsite teams by conducting ongoing risk management processes hazard identification performing required environmental inspections and providing expert advice.
  • Implement and manage consultative processes in the workplace relating to the environmental matters throughout all stages of project delivery.
  • Educate delivery teams by conducting toolbox meetings and developing coordinating and delivering training programs.

ABOUT YOU

  • Relevant Tertiary degree (post graduate qualifications preferred) in the fields of environmental engineering environmental science statutory or strategic planning environmental management or related discipline.
  • At least 5 years environmental management experience with extensive experience in the preparation and implementation of environmental management systems and plans.
  • Strong experience in the day-to-day management of all on-site environmental aspects including positively engaging with onsite construction teams site inspections and any field testing/ monitoring requirements.
  • A good understanding of relevant State and Commonwealth legislation relating to environmental planning and approvals environmental licensing and/or site environmental management.
  • Experience in the water/wastewater industry is advantageous.
