This role is part of a structured succession plan. You will be supported and progressively trained to assume in a few years the leadership of our Production Department. During this learning period you will benefit from personalized mentoring in-depth technical training and concrete opportunities to develop your management skills.
Your Role and Responsibilities During the Development Program:
During the first few years your mandate will focus on learning and gradual contribution:
- Technical Immersion: Spend most of your time on the production floor alongside operators to master the machinery processes and operational challenges. Gain a detailed understanding of all plant positions (production labourer forklift operator operators maintenance molds).
- Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in optimization projects loss reduction initiatives and the implementation of lean tools (6S Kanban etc.).
- Progressive Leadership: Develop your management communication and problem-solving skills through increasing levels of responsibility.
- Strategic Contributions: Be entrusted with special assignments and large-scale projects that directly impact plant performance.
Your Long-Term Mandate: Production Manager
At the end of your training period you will be fully established in the role and assume full responsibility for the Production Manager position including:
- Leadership and Team Management: Lead and motivate all production teams (multiple shifts) fostering a safe positive and accountable work environment.
- Operational Performance: Be responsible for achieving performance objectives (OEE costs quality delivery). Analyze data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive improvements.
- Production Management: Oversee planning daily operations and problem-solving to ensure efficient and profitable production.
- Operational Excellence: Lead the implementation and deployment of continuous improvement programs and lean manufacturing practices.
- Health & Safety: Promote and maintain a strong safety culture ensuring compliance with all programs and standards.
- Human Capital Development: Recruit train and develop talent ensure succession planning and support employee retention.
- Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with other departments (Logistics Maintenance HR Finance) to achieve the plants strategic and financial objectives.
Qualifications :
- University degree in engineering operations logistics management or a related field;
- 2 to 5 years of experience in an manufacturing/industrial environment ideally in production;
- Strong interest in the technical aspects of operations and manufacturing processes;
- Ability to work as part of a team and build trusting relationships with operators and managers;
- Strong analytical skills rigor and a willingness to learn;
- Bilingualism (French and English) is a strong asset (English is required to communicate with customers and suppliers based in the United States and outside Quebec).
