Lab Technician (Materials Testing)

• Setting up calibrating and operating laboratory equipment and instruments required to perform concrete soils asphalt and/or other related construction materials testing;
• Collection setup testing and disposal of construction materials in accordance with industry standards and techniques;
• Reviewing and understanding testing requirements in accordance with the applicable code approved plans and specifications;
• Processing relevant reports regarding testing and samples of construction materials;
• Communicating with supervisors colleagues and other individuals as needed;
• All other related duties in order to assist with the effective functioning of the lab; may perform field assignments on occasion as needed.

• High School Diploma required; prior laboratory or construction materials testing experience preferred;
• Ability to acquire relevant ACI certifications within a reasonable time period;
• Ability to complete OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety and Health Training within a reasonable time period;
• Basic understanding or the ability to learn relevant testing and inspection processes procedures and codes.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in testing and documentation.
• Effective oral and written communication skills;

• Handle inspect and/or feel documents materials and/or equipment relevant to the job;
• Communicate with colleagues supervisors and clients using Company email and telephone systems;
• Move around on the job-site including ascending or descending on the landscape or on a ladder and positioning oneself appropriately to access necessary testing materials and equipment usually for prolonged periods of time
• Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. for some types of monitoring and inspections
• Good visual skills including focused depth perception.
