Job Description Summary
Under general direction of the Dean of Academic Pathways and Student Success plans and develops methods procedures and practices to implement and administer the activities in the Learning Resource Center including the Tutorial Program Electronic Classroom Math Lab Science Lab and the Computer Assisted Instructional Lab.
Desirable Qualifications
Experience working in a community college or a related field. Knowledge of: Principles and practices of effective supervision of others Program evaluation techniques and methodology Application of State Federal and District laws regulations and guidelines that govern administration of activity of assignment Budget development and administration Ability to: Plan organize and direct the work of others Train evaluate and develop staff assigned to the activity Interpret laws and regulations Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports Communicate effectively in the oral and written form
Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelors Degree from accredited college or university in one of the social sciences business or a directly related field and four (4) years of experience in performing professional-level work involving planning directing budgeting supervising and evaluating relation to coordinating a learning resource center administering an assessment and tutorial program; or an equivalent combination of education and qualifying professional experience that would provide the knowledge and abilities needed to perform the duties of the position. 2. Knowledge of and proficiency in the operation and use of personal computers utilizing word processing spreadsheet and database management software programs (e.g. MS Office Suite MS Word MS Excel MS Access and MS PowerPoint.) 3. Applicant must have demonstrated cultural competency sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic socioeconomic cultural disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college staff faculty and students.
