The Opportunity
W Manchester is set to open in Summer 2027 bringing the bold design-led energy of the W brand to one of the UKs most dynamic cities.
We are seeking a commercially minded lifestyle-driven General Manager to lead this landmark opening someone who understands the UK city hotel market thrives in fast-paced environments and knows how to build a premium lifestyle hotel that resonates with both local and international guests.
This is an opportunity for an experienced hotel leader ready to shape a new destination from the ground up.
Key Leadership Accountabilities
As General Manager you will:
- Lead the successful pre-opening and launch of W Manchester from early planning through to post-opening stabilisation
- Drive strong commercial performance with a rooms-led revenue-focused mindset maximising demand rate and market positioning
- Champion the W brand ethos creating a hotel that is culturally relevant locally connected and unmistakably W
- Partner closely with ownership and Marriott International to deliver agreed commercial and brand outcomes
- Build inspire and lead a high-energy leadership team aligned to a lifestyle operating model
- Establish W Manchester as a social and cultural hub within the city
What We Are Looking For
Essential Experience
- Proven leadership experience within premium lifestyle or luxury-adjacent hospitality brands
- Strong understanding of the UK city hotel market ideally with experience in the North of England or West Midlands (Manchester Liverpool Birmingham or similar)
- Commercially astute with a rooms-focused background and strong revenue management capability
- Experience operating with leased or third-party F&B models
- Prior hotel opening or major repositioning experience strongly preferred
Leadership Profile
- A natural cultural leader who aligns with the W lifestyle ethos
- Comfortable operating in a high-visibility fast-moving environment
- Entrepreneurial energetic and confident in making decisions
- Able to attract develop and retain diverse high-performing teams
