Western Local Land Services is currently seeking to appoint a Senior Land Services Officer - Travelling Stock Reserves to join our team and show that West is Best!

About the Role

Western Local Land Services is seeking a capable and community-focused Senior Land Services Officer - Travelling Stock Reserves (TSR) to lead the sustainable management of Travelling Stock Reserves across one of the largest and most diverse regions in New South Wales.

The role is central to supporting extensive grazing enterprises and regional communities balancing stock movement needs with land condition biodiversity values and legislative requirements. Working across large geographic areas you will engage closely with landholders stock users councils and internal teams to ensure TSRs are managed responsibly and effectively

About You

You are practical adaptable and comfortable working independently across remote landscapes. You understand the realities of extensive grazing systems and can communicate clearly and respectfully with a wide range of stakeholders. You value good land stewardship and can balance productivity with environmental and cultural considerations.

We are seeking someone with:

  • Demonstrated experience in land management agriculture natural resource management or a related field
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills particularly with rural and remote landholders and stock users
  • Knowledge of grazing systems pasture management and land condition assessment in dryland environments
  • Ability to work autonomously manage competing priorities and travel extensively across the region
  • Well-developed written and record-keeping skills

Desirable Experience

  • Knowledge of Travelling Stock Reserve legislation policy and operational frameworks
  • Experience working in western or remote NSW environments
  • Understanding of invasive species management biosecurity or emergency response operations

Essential Requirements

  • A degree in agricultural environmental natural resource management biosecurity and emergency management and/or equivalent level of industry knowledge and experience
  • Current NSW Driver Licence and the ability and willingness to undertake regular remote travel
  • Ability and willingness to undertake a police check and medical clearance

What to Expect Next
