A welcoming and inclusive primary school in the London Borough of Ealing is seeking a committed and nurturing EYFS SEN Teaching Assistant to join its Early Years team. The successful candidate will work closely with children in Nursery and Reception who have a range of Special Educational Needs including autism spectrum condition (ASC) speech and language needs global developmental delay and social emotional and mental health needs.
You will provide:
Targeted 1:1 and small-group support
Assistance with communication interaction and play-based learning
Support with personal care where required
Observational feedback to inform planning and assessments
You will work under the direction of the class teacher SENCo and EYFS Lead contributing to EHCP targets and early intervention strategies.
Support pupils access to the EYFS curriculum through structured play and adult-led activities
Promote positive behaviour emotional regulation and independence
Implement strategies recommended by external professionals (e.g. speech and language therapists occupational therapists)
Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and engagement
Foster a safe inclusive and nurturing learning environment
Uphold safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times
We are looking for someone who:
Has experience supporting children with SEN in an EYFS or primary setting
Demonstrates patience empathy and emotional intelligence
Understands child development and early learning frameworks
Can work effectively as part of a team
Is proactive reflective and willing to learn
Relevant qualifications or training in childcare education or SEN are desirable but not essential.
