Tekberry is looking for a highly qualified and motivated Senior Software Engineer to work hybrid with our client. This is a full-time contract role with the potential to extend or convert to permanent employment based on performance and business needs. As a Tekberry W2 employee you will have access to health benefits including dental and vision.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with cross-functional Agile team members to plan design develop and deliver high-quality backend and frontend web applications aligned with Manheims business priorities.
Build enhance and maintain high-volume enterprise-grade applications across the full stack-including service layers UI components APIs and system integrations.
Participate in a rotating on-call schedule; troubleshoot and resolve production issues with urgency and a focus on service reliability.
Provide technical leadership through code reviews architectural discussions and mentorship of junior/mid-level engineers.
Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying and testing new tools approaches and engineering solutions.
Foster a culture of collaboration transparency and innovation within the engineering organization.
Work closely with business stakeholders to understand functional requirements clarify use cases and support product ownership.
Participate in Agile ceremonies (standups retrospectives sprint planning) and support iterative development practices including TDD and automated testing.
Deliver clean maintainable and testable code while ensuring performance scalability and security best practices.
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field and 4 years of professional engineering experience
OR Masters degree 2 years experience
OR PhD up to 1 year experience
OR 8 years equivalent industry experience without a degree.
Advanced proficiency with Java stack including:
Maven Spring Boot REST/GraphQL services
JUnit or equivalent testing frameworks
JMeter or load-testing tools
Authentication & API security patterns
Proficiency with modern JavaScript stack including:
JavaScript & TypeScript
React (preferred) or another component-based front-end framework
VSCode and modern UI tooling
Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred):
Automated provisioning serverless tooling
API deployments load balancing account management
CloudFormation/Terraform or similar IaC tools
Expertise with CI/CD and development tooling including:
Git/GitHub Enterprise
Unit integration and load testing
Containers (Docker)
Troubleshooting full API stack-from DNS through deployment
Database experience with SQL (PostgreSQL MySQL SQLServer Oracle) and NoSQL (DynamoDB DocumentDB Cassandra).
Experience with AI tools and an understanding of their operation best-use cases and limitations.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in Agile Lean or iterative development environments.
Experience guiding architectural decisions or owning a technical product area.
Demonstrated history of mentoring and enabling engineering teams.
Experience in enterprise-scale automotive logistics or e-commerce systems is a plus.
