Requirements

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Industrial Automation Engineer with advanced hands-on experience in Rockwell Automation platforms to support maintain and optimize mission-critical industrial control systems. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise across PLC DCS and SCADA systems strong troubleshooting capabilities and proven experience supporting plant automation environments through structured ITIL-based support processes.


Key Responsibilities

Rockwell Automation & Control Systems

  • Configure program maintain and optimize Rockwell Automation systems including:

    • ControlLogix

    • FactoryTalk (View SE/ME AssetCentre Historian)

    • PlantPAx DCS

    • RSLogix / Studio 5000

    • Connected HMI and visualization systems

  • Perform system upgrades patches backups and recovery activities for control platforms.

  • Support commissioning testing and validation of automation systems in production environments.

PLC / DCS / SCADA Engineering

  • Design develop and maintain PLC DCS and SCADA applications.

  • Implement control strategies interlocks alarms and safety logic.

  • Integrate automation hardware and software components including controllers I/O drives and field devices.

  • Support panel design reviews wiring validation and factory/site acceptance testing (FAT/SAT).

Industrial Networks & System Architecture

  • Design and support industrial automation architectures aligned with ISA/IEC standards.

  • Configure and troubleshoot industrial network protocols including:

    • EtherNet/IP

    • DeviceNet

    • ControlNet

    • Profinet

  • Diagnose and resolve communication issues across PLCs HMIs SCADA and field devices.

  • Collaborate with IT teams on network segmentation cybersecurity and plant-to-enterprise connectivity.

Troubleshooting & Incident Management

  • Perform advanced diagnostics and root cause analysis of complex control system and process automation issues.

  • Provide L2/L3 support for production incidents in high-availability plant environments.

  • Minimize downtime through effective troubleshooting and proactive system improvements.

  • Lead corrective and preventive actions to enhance system reliability and performance.

Support Desk & ITIL Processes

  • Manage the end-to-end incident and ticket lifecycle within plant automation support desks.

  • Handle incident prioritization escalation resolution and closure in line with SLA commitments.

  • Participate in change management risk assessment and implementation of approved changes.

  • Contribute to problem management by identifying recurring issues and driving permanent fixes.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Create and maintain technical documentation including:

    • Control narratives

    • System architecture diagrams

    • SOPs and troubleshooting guides

  • Ensure compliance with site standards safety requirements and regulatory guidelines.

  • Support audits and compliance reviews related to automation systems.


Required Skills & Qualifications

Mandatory Skills

  • 7 / 8 years of hands-on experience in industrial automation and control systems

  • Strong expertise in Rockwell Automation platforms

  • Advanced programming experience with ControlLogix RSLogix Studio 5000

  • Hands-on experience with FactoryTalk and PlantPAx DCS

  • Strong knowledge of PLC/DCS/SCADA architectures

  • In-depth understanding of industrial networking protocols

  • Proven experience in incident management and root cause analysis

ITSM & Support Skills

  • Strong knowledge of ITIL-based support processes (Incident Problem Change Management)

  • Experience using ServiceNow or similar ITSM/ticketing tools

  • Experience supporting 24x7 plant or mission-critical environments (preferred)


Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience in Manufacturing Oil & Gas Chemicals Utilities or Pharma

  • Knowledge of industrial cybersecurity standards (ISA/IEC 62443)

  • Experience with virtualization (VMware) in control system environments

  • Exposure to MES integrations and plant data historians

  • Rockwell Automation certifications (preferred)

  • Ability to work independently and under pressure

  • Strong documentation and process discipline

Education

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Electronics Instrumentation Automation or related engineering discipline

Required Skills:

Advanced hands-on experience with Rockwell Automation platforms and solutions including configuration troubleshooting maintenance and optimization of core products such as ControlLogix FactoryTalk PlantPAx RSLogix Studio 5000 and connected visualization/HMI systems. Required Education:

Bachelors/Masters degree in Computer Science Engineering Information Technology or related field.
