Job Description Summary: The Procurement Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the uninterrupted supply of high-quality raw materials critical to our manufacturing operations. This position is responsible for leading strategic sourcing initiatives managing global and domestic supplier relationships and driving cost optimization across key materials such as resins epoxies polyurethanes pigments solvents and specialty additives. By aligning procurement strategy with business objectives the incumbent ensures supply chain resilience regulatory compliance and operational efficiency. The role demands a proactive leader with deep technical knowledge of chemical raw materials strong negotiation capabilities and the ability to lead cross-functional teams across India. This position is instrumental in supporting innovation sustainability and profitability through data-driven procurement decisions and strategic supplier partnerships. Responsibilities: Lead end-to-end procurement of critical raw materials including resins epoxies polyurethanes solvents pigments fillers sealants bitumen fibers and specialty additives. Identify evaluate and onboard qualified global and domestic suppliers while building long-term strategic partnerships. Negotiate competitive pricing favorable contract terms and ensure favorable delivery conditions. Implement risk mitigation strategies through supplier diversification dual sourcing and contingency planning. Drive cost reduction initiatives without compromising material quality or performance. Optimize inventory levels by aligning procurement with production schedules lead times and material shelf life. Monitor global raw material price trends and deliver timely market intelligence to support strategic decision-making. Ensure all incoming materials comply with technical safety environmental and regulatory standards (including VOC limits and hazardous chemical handling). Collaborate with R&D and Quality teams to define specifications conduct material approvals and support product development. Maintain compliance with import/export regulations for chemicals and regulated materials. Partner with Operations R&D Finance and Logistics to align procurement activities with business needs. Develop and maintain KPIs and real-time dashboards to track supplier performance cost savings and procurement efficiency. Lead strategic procurement planning sessions and present actionable recommendations to senior leadership. Build mentor and lead a high-performing procurement team across India; define roles responsibilities and accountability frameworks. Requirements Requirements: Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. 610 years of progressive procurement experience with a focus on chemicals coatings or construction chemicals -depth technical knowledge of resins epoxy polyurethane pigments fillers solvents sealants and industrial coatings raw materials. Proven expertise in supplier negotiation cost optimization risk management and global sourcing. Demonstrated ability to lead and develop multi-location procurement teams. Strong analytical mindset with experience in data-driven procurement strategy and performance measurement. Excellent communication presentation and negotiation skills particularly when engaging with international suppliers.
