Job Summary: We are looking for a Network Engineer to provide onsite field support for network installation and basic troubleshooting activities. The role involves handling network devices performing physical installations and coordinating with remote teams to ensure successful connectivity.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify and access the communications (Comms) room at the site.
Mount security appliances (MX) and network switches (MS) in the rack.
Connect cables from the patch panel to the MX and MS devices to establish network connectivity.
Connect a laptop to network devices when required for basic troubleshooting activities.
Provide remote access to the support team via screen sharing using Microsoft Teams or Zoom if required.
Perform proper cable management including labelling and neatly arranging cables.
Take clear photographs of the completed setup and share them with the remote team.
Required Skills & Experience:
Basic understanding of networking concepts (LAN/WAN).
Hands-on experience with network devices such as switches and security appliances.
Familiarity with rack mounting and patch panel connections.
Ability to follow remote instructions and coordinate with offsite engineers.
Basic troubleshooting skills.
