As aMechanical Systems Engineer you will be a member of an international team focused on creating and reviewing efficient designs for state-of-the-art passenger trains managing complex interfaces and integrating brake systems.
Key Responsibilities - Create concepts specifications and technical documentation for brake and pneumatic systems.
- Responsible for the design and integration of brakes into various rail vehicles.
- Coordinate technical and project system requirements between Mechanical Electrical Software and other engineering teams.
- Act as the primary technical liaison for Stadlers contracted external system suppliers.
- Interpret and incorporate local federal and customer requirements into system design.
- Define procurement documentation type testing and commissioning documentation.
- Support static and dynamic field testing of rail vehicles.
- Responsible for performing First Article Inspections (FAI) of assigned systems.
- Follow scheduling budgetary goals and guidelines.
- Ensure clear and effective cross-departmental collaboration.
- Fluent in English both written and verbal. German is a plus!
Qualifications - BS or MS degree in Mechanical Aerospace or similar Engineering discipline.
- Experience with designing and defining complex systems (pneumatics or hydraulics is a plus).
- Independent and well-structured working methods.
- Able to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
- Self-motivated attitude and the ability to use initiative to maintain project timelines.
- Excellent communication technical writing and problem-solving skills.
- Great 3D and 2D CAD skills (CATIA V5 is a plus)
- Experience working in a PLM system (SmarTeam or Teamcenter is a plus)
