Job Description
The Respiratory Therapist at MUSC Midlands provides advanced respiratory care to patients with a variety of respiratory conditions. This role involves performing diagnostic tests administering treatments and working closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans. The Respiratory Therapist ensures the delivery of high-quality evidence-based care to patients of all ages.
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Graduation from a program approved by CoArc (Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care) or a successor accrediting authority and two years of experience in respiratory care.
Required License Certification and Registration: Licensed as a respiratory care practitioner by the South Carolina Department of Labor Licensing and Regulations Board of Medical Examiners. Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
