As a Pharmacy Technician you will play a vital link in moving medications throughout the facility to enhance patient care. You will join a team that empowers every caregiver to make valuable contributions to patient-focused care teaching and research activities. This team embraces a positive attitude and respects and supports one another to provide the best care possible.


A caregiver in this position works Day/Evening Rotation from 8:00am - 8:00pm.


A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Provide distributive pharmacy services assistance and support for the pharmacist in an ambulatory/outpatient setting.

  • Prepare prescription orders for dispensing to patients.

  • Maintain inventory for the outpatient pharmacy.

  • Assist with extemporaneous compounding of prescriptions and bulk compounding of prescriptions and over the counter items.

  • Operate the point-of-sale cash register system.

  • Monitor and act on reorder points restock prescription and non-prescription area and remove expiring products.

  • Provide multi-pharmacy support in assigned areas as needed.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • A high school diploma or GED

  • Upon hire you must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcare Association (NHA)

  • Upon hire it is to hold an active registration through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP) as either a Certified Pharmacy Technician Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Trainee

  • Caregivers with active Pharmacy Technician Trainee or Registered Pharmacy Technician registrations are required to update their registration to a Certified Pharmacy Technician registration with the OBOP within 6 months

  • Can perform algebraic calculations necessary for the preparation of extemporaneous compounds

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Six months of hospital experience

  • Typical physical demands include ability to perform functions of the job while reaching and stretching and manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer functions of job.
