As a Pharmacy Technician you will play a vital link in moving medications throughout the facility to enhance patient care. You will join a team that empowers every caregiver to make valuable contributions to patient-focused care teaching and research activities. This team embraces a positive attitude and respects and supports one another to provide the best care possible.
A caregiver in this position works Day/Evening Rotation from 8:00am - 8:00pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide distributive pharmacy services assistance and support for the pharmacist in an ambulatory/outpatient setting.
Prepare prescription orders for dispensing to patients.
Maintain inventory for the outpatient pharmacy.
Assist with extemporaneous compounding of prescriptions and bulk compounding of prescriptions and over the counter items.
Operate the point-of-sale cash register system.
Monitor and act on reorder points restock prescription and non-prescription area and remove expiring products.
Provide multi-pharmacy support in assigned areas as needed.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
A high school diploma or GED
Upon hire you must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcare Association (NHA)
Upon hire it is to hold an active registration through the Ohio Board of Pharmacy (OBOP) as either a Certified Pharmacy Technician Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Trainee
Caregivers with active Pharmacy Technician Trainee or Registered Pharmacy Technician registrations are required to update their registration to a Certified Pharmacy Technician registration with the OBOP within 6 months
Can perform algebraic calculations necessary for the preparation of extemporaneous compounds
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Six months of hospital experience

Typical physical demands include ability to perform functions of the job while reaching and stretching and manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer functions of job.
