Job Summary
Job Description Summary
The Principal Engineer is responsible for Validating & Defining the Layout & Piping Engineering solutions for Hydro Power world-wide project or program in term of quality cost safety and reliability.Job Description
Responsibilities
- Validation of Concept and Basic Design Layout & Piping for hydro power plant solutions in tendering and execution for all hydro segments in accordance with time quality and costs forecast.
- Develop the Lean Engineering process & Quality standards
- Support the TCP career development and training of Layout team and other functions
- Design Review Validation ITO/OTR
- ITO Pre-Validation/ITO Validation
- Risk Handling (Risk log R2 meetings)
- Perform / Support RCA on non-conformance
- Communication of best practice and expertise within the Organization and selected Customer Organizations.
- Be involved in special trouble shooting missions
- Hands on working knowledge in E3D/ CAD tools & identify the 3D tool Improvements & Design Practice for working in E3D environment Hydro specific Customization etc.
- Development of Design standards and guidelines
- Participation to development meetings and workshop in relationship with the process tools and product improvement internally and in external organizations
- FOE Implementation
Qualifications / Requirements
Technical skill:
- Sound technical knowledge in Layout & piping.
- Strong team and project management capabilities.
- B. E. Mechanical Engineering /Masters degree.
- Extensive experience in the Hydro power Plants.
- Strong leadership skills in a multicultural environment and shall have strong technical skills.
- Experience of overall technical assessment of tenders and projects.
- Strong engineering background ideally from Mechanical Engineering.
- Knowledge of Power Systems.
- Strong customer interface experience.
- Experience and focus previously on project delivery.
- Hands on working knowledge in E3D/ CAD tools.
- Exposure to Engineering process & Quality standards.
- Knowledge on turbine/Generation operation sequences & Auxiliaries.
- Strong knowledge of international norms and standards.
