About the Booths & Dispatch Supervisor Position:

The Booth & Dispatch Supervisor position is a part of UW-Madison Division of Facilities Planning and Managements (FP&M) Transportation Services Department/ This position is responsible for supervising scheduling and maintaining booth operations for seventeen (17) parking structures across the campus. The position will supervise operations of the staffed lots and ramps on campus and act as a liaison between the department and the general public.

The Booths & Dispatch Supervisor in this position is responsible for the daily cash reconciliation of the cashier positions for which it supervises. Duties are performed under the general supervision of the UW Program Specialist Supervisor Booths Manager. The University of Wisconsin Transportation Services is committed to the highest standard of customer relations principles for its customers fellow staff members and visitors. Full-Time: 100% FTE

Hours generally scheduled Wednesday to Sunday 10:00PM to 8:30AM. Occasional nights weekends and holidays may be required for this position.

This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Exercises supervisory authority including hiring transferring suspending promoting managing conduct and performance discharging assigning rewarding disciplining and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
  • Implements and executes established policies and procedures for a designated work unit to adhere to unit objectives and to align with established strategies
  • Supervise and manage the units Insufficient Funds (INSF) processes and procedures. Ensure the established processes are being followed by staff work with unit managers to improve current processes and make necessary recommendations.

  • Schedules logistics and secures resources for a designated work unit to contribute to the day-to-day operational success
  • Analyzes data and trends compiles progress reports and provides appropriate recommendations or conclusions in support of the assigned operational work unit(s)
  • Assists recommends and advises staff on unit or program administrative issues personnel matters and budgetary problems
  • Develops schedules and prioritizes unit or program work plans in accordance with specifications and resource limitations
  • Assist Dispatchers every night by performing on site Lot counts to ensure the capacity at all parking structures in campus are accurate. Assit with other projects as requested.

  • Supervise and manage the units daily audit processes and procedures. Ensure all cash transactions are audited correctly identify audit errors ensure units cash reports balance out.

  • Conduct weekly starting cash audits at all booths locations to ensure all of the starting cash is accounted for address any cash handling issues with. Manage diff parking systems. Assist Booth Attendants and Dispatchers w/ any mechanical/software issues

UW Transportation Services is a department within Facilities Planning and Management (FP&M) on the UW-Madison campus. We serve a variety of customers with a diverse set of parking and transportation needs. Transportation Services is responsible for the coordination and administration of all transportation-related services for the UW campus community. Primary functions include the sale/management of parking permits special event coordination maintenance and enforcement construction coordination lot and booth operations citation payments and appeals information technology financial transportation planning and development of multimodal options.

The Division of Facilities Planning & Management (FP&M) is a full-spectrum service organization that builds maintains and operates the physical environment of UW-Madison in the universitys education research and outreach activities. We are responsible for everything from the building projects that change the face of campus to the flowers that beautify the grounds.

The minimum rate for this position is $65000 but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Required Qualifications:

  • Three (3) years of direct supervisory duties; experience with hiring discipling training and staff scheduling
  • Cash handling experience including credit cards

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working overnight shift
  • Parking Operations Dispatch Control Center and Customer Service experience
  • Experience with a two way radio and intercoms

Education:

High School Diploma or Equivalent -Preferred
