Friends of Ruby is dedicated to supporting the well-being of 2SLGBTQIA youth aged 16-29 through mental health services social programs and housing. WeoperateaYouth Centre offering barrier-free counselling hot meals and community programming and aTransitional Home providing emergency and long-term housing with life-skills support.

About the Role
As an Admin Volunteer you willbe responsible for:
- Welcoming and Directing Youth:
- Be a friendlynon-judgmentalpresence welcoming youth into the Friends of Ruby Youth Centre.
- Provide youth with directions to the spaceserviceor program they are looking for.
- Answer questions youth may have about our programs or services upon entry.
- If a youthis in need ofde-escalation direct them to the de-escalation room and inform a Friends of Ruby staff.
- Receiving Packages and Deliveries:
- Receive all packages and scheduled donationdeliveriesbrought to the Youth Centre.
- Inform relevantFriendsof Ruby staff when a package or delivery has arrived for them.
- Manage incoming phone calls to the telephone line including call transfers to correct staff members reviewing voice mail messages and providing followupas necessary.
- Support office operations andmaintaininventory for donations and office supplies.
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Experiencewith administrative work.
- Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
- Comfortable greeting service users.
- Works wellas a member ofateam.
- Commitment to social justice anti-racism anti-oppression housing first approach harm reduction approach and trauma-informed care.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook Teams Word Excel PowerPoint).
Assets:
- Identifies asa member of the2SLGBTQIAcommunity.
- Knowledge and experience in the sector.
- Personal Health InformationProtectionAct (PHIPA)training.
- Customer service experience or training.
