The Team Youll Work With
The Mayors Office of Talent and Workforce Development (NYC Talent) works to mobilize New Yorkers and the local talent development infrastructure to achieve an inclusive economy and realize the citywide employment objectives laid out in Mayor Eric Adams Executive Order #22. To do this NYC Talent partners with and mobilizes public agencies educational institutions non-profits unions communities and industry so that NYC residents succeed in fulfilling economically secure careers.

Workforce Development Corporation: The Workforce Development Corporation (WDC) is an independent not-for-profit created by the City of New York. The WDC and NYC Talent work in partnership to jointly develop fund and manage workforce and training initiatives to create a skilled workforce in the City of New York.
The Problems Youll Solve
The Project Manager will play an integral role in NYC Talents Apprenticeship Accelerator to support the creation of new apprenticeship opportunities across the citys talent and workforce ecosystem with particular focus on the expansion of youth apprenticeship pathways in green collar careers and public service. This position will report directly to the Executive Director of the Apprenticeship Accelerator while working with colleagues from across NYC Talent in particular with teams from the Center for Youth Employment and sector-specific industry partnerships and support the development implementation and ongoing management of apprenticeship programs in key in-demand occupations and sectors. The Project Manager will also work closely with the Department of Citywide Administrative Services and other city agencies to identify new opportunities for youth and adult apprenticeships in the public sector leveraging new and expanded programs partnerships and administrative strategies and tools such as civil service to increase apprenticeship opportunities in municipal government.
Specific Responsibilities:
-Support the Executive Director and Center for Youth Employment colleagues in engaging with City agency partners providing support and follow-up on various requests related to Apprenticeship Accelerator workstreams. Work with City agencies to secure relevant civil service opportunities for apprentices and promote long-term City employment post-apprenticeship.
-Monitor progress and provide ongoing support to apprentices and supervisors across the city ensuring that participants remain engaged and committed to their roles.
-Work with City agencies to ensure that participants have access to the necessary training and resources to earn industry-recognized certifications and college credits.
-Gather feedback from participating city agencies on the performance readiness and impact of apprentices and supervisors.
-Conduct site visits to meet with employers to assist in program design and/or supporting the drafting and submission of applications for state or federal approval.
-Manage and coordinate recruitment with partner programs including CareerWise Modern Youth Apprenticeship Industry Scholars DCAS DYCD CUNY Civil Service Pathways and other programs.
-Event Planning: work with NYC Talent staff to plan and execute stakeholder events on a regular basis.
-Provide support for projects and operational tasks for the Apprenticeship Accelerator team and other NYC Talent teams as needed.
-Provide office-wide administrative support to the Apprenticeship Accelerator Team including maintaining project plans drafting correspondence screening calls helping manage their extensive calendar of public events and private meetings and maintaining central office files and cloud infrastructure.

-You are extremely detail-oriented with excellent organization planning coordination and multi-tasking skills.
-You have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and in a diverse team environment with all levels of supervisory and frontline staff.
-You have experience with employer engagement city government or community development.
Minimum Required Qualifications
One of the following is required:
oYou have a bachelors degree 3 years of clerical/administrative experience including 1 year in administrative capacity or supervising staff doing moderately complex clerical work.
oYou have an associate degree (60 credits) 5 years of clerical/administrative experience including 1 year in administrative capacity or supervising staff doing moderately complex clerical work.
oYou have a high school diploma or equivalent 6 years of clerical/administrative experience including 2 years in an administrative capacity or supervising staff doing moderately complex clerical work.

Qualifications :
1. Graduation from an accredited college with a baccalaureate degree; or
2. Graduation from an accredited community college plus two years of experience with administrative analytic coordinative supervisory or liaison responsibilities; or
3. A four year high school diploma or its educational equivalent plus four years of experience as described in 2 above; or
4. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience.
