Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade.
**A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and Montgomery Personnel Board Rules & Regulations**
Nature of Work
The fundamental reason the position exists is toprovide stock handling and store record keeping for the Police InformationTechnology (IT) and Traffic Engineering Departments or the Division ofPurchasing for the City of Montgomery. The employee is responsible forreceiving issuing inspecting and storing a large and varied stock of equipmentand supplies by various City departments. The work responsibilities include processingand reconciling purchasing and billing of supplies equipment and/or partsassisting technicians with diagnosing equipment problems maintaining andupdating vendor contracts conducting spot checks and annual inventory andpreparing surplus equipment and vehicles for public sale. The employee hasconsiderable independent responsibility for maintaining adequate supply andstock levels. Work is performed under the general supervision of the RadioCommunications Supervisor Traffic Maintenance Supervisor or WarehouseSupervisor.
