The facility is seeking an experienced PCU / MSDU Registered Nurse for a night shift assignment in a 26-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU). This critical care step-down unit provides advanced monitoring and evidence-based care for adult acute-care patients transitioning from higher levels of care including ICU PACU ED and medical-surgical units.
All patients are on continuous telemetry and pulse oximetry. The RN must be adaptable vigilant and comfortable providing complex patient care in a multidisciplinary environment.
Licensure:
Active New York RN license required at submission (no exceptions)
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of PCU / step-down or equivalent acute care experience
First-time travelers accepted
Patient Ratios:
Must be able to manage 1:5 to 1:7 patient ratios as needed
Certifications:
BLS required
Charting:
EPIC experience required
Cardiac Monitoring & Emergency Response:
Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
Use of Rapid Response and Code Teams
IV Therapy / Phlebotomy:
Peripheral IV line care and management
Respiratory Care:
Nasal cannula
Oxygen face masks
Portable oxygen tanks
Non-invasive airway management (including BIPAP)
Professional Skills:
Isolation precautions
Unit Size: 26 beds
Provides care for patients requiring:
Continuous telemetry and pulse oximetry
Airway management and acute BIPAP support
Arterial and central lines
Titrated IV medication infusions
Utilizes a multidisciplinary patient-centered approach to deliver high-quality care
Locals:
Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
