The Opportunity
The position of Forensic Scientist II Screening is within our Toxicology division located at Gretna LA. This role will be responsible for operating the instruments used to perform the initial analysis of urine specimens for substances of abuse with the SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) mandatory guidelines and those of other regulatory organizations.
Shift:
3:00 pm to 11:30 pm
Monday to Friday
What Youll Work On
Operation and maintenance of the Screening Instrument and initial review of data.
Perform moderate and high complexity testing.
Operate calibrate and maintain analyzers.
Troubleshoot issues with screening instruments.
Knowledge of nomenclature and assay cutoffs.
Knowledge of screening methods.
Adherence to all security procedures for ensuring confidentiality of donor information.
Adherence to all established guidelines outlined in the Employee Handbook.
Required Qualifications
BS degree in science or equivalent related field
1-3 years experience
Detail oriented
Multitasking
Good documentation practices
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced ability to understand analytical techniques and procedures
Advanced ability to understand laboratory instrumentation
Advanced ability to understand certification requirements for SAMSHA CAP-PUDT and other relevant regulatory bodies
Basic ability to understand the function of a Laboratory Information System (LIS) and other laboratory computer systems
Basic understanding of drugs that are tested
